HERE ARE A FEW THINGS WE OFFER:
Scheduled, one-on-one sessions: These are appointments you can make up to one week in advance with the tutor of your choice (on a first come, first scheduled basis).
Group Tutoring: Set up a group tutoring session with one of our tutors. Call for more details.
Drop-in Tutoring: We offer drop-in tutoring in English and writing. These sessions are always first come, first serve, and we cannot guarantee these slots will be available.
Online Tutoring: We offer online assistance through the "Learning Resources" tab of the Student Portal. The link provided will take you to the eTutoring website where you can find online help with math questions and writing/English projects as well as links to internet resources to assist you in finding your own answers. Live tutors are available for eChat sessions, and questions and papers can be submitted over the web for a response within 24-48 hours. Tutors are provided by TCC and other member schools of the Northwest Distance Learning Consortium headed by WSU.
Grammar Corner : The tutors will assist you with a variety of grammar issues. Come with specific questions about specific kinds of errors or with more general concerns. Call for hours.
Computers : You can use one of our 20 student computers to draft papers and do research, as well as to have computer-assisted tutorials with our tutors.
Language Conversation Groups: These different conversation groups help students improve everyday language skills while playing games, conversing, and meeting new people--without being graded. Call for available groups and meeting times
Credited course for writing tutorials: Students interested in scheduling one-hour weekly appointments through the entire quarter for consistent help on writing projects should consider signing up for Writing 96, a one-credit, repeatable course. Writing 80’s: These are one and two-credit lab courses that offer review in subjects like punctuation, basic grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and paragraph writing. See course schedule (under Writing Center) for details.
Science, Math, and Business Corners: In these corners you can find helpful handouts and resources. You can even drop by or set up an appointment with a tutor that specializes in science, math, accounting, and economics courses.
