These workshops are announced in the weekly TCC Bulletin and a schedule is posted on the Reading Lab web site.
Reading Lab Tutorials: We offer 1 to 2-credit tutorials to all students at TCC. Please refer your students to the Lab to help them succeed in your classes. The following tutorials are offered:
Reading 80 is a 1 credit tutorial course that helps students to improve basic textbook comprehension skills. Students will work with a Lab tutor and computer software to help them read textbooks with greater understanding and efficiency. They will also work to increase their knowledge and understanding of college vocabulary.
Reading 96 is a good addition to any college class. Students struggling with their textbook can work with a tutor to analyze their textbook and related assignments. The goal is to increase students' chance for success in a particular course.
Reading 100 is a 2 credit, tutorial course that provides students with the skills to develop vocabulary necessary for college success. They will work with a tutor, computer software, and various other resources to help them identify new words in context and to increase their knowledge of college vocabulary.
Reading and Study Skills Handouts: we offer hardcopies of numerous handouts covering reading skills (comprehension, finding the main idea etc.) and study skills (test taking, note taking, time management etc).
