Language Center

The Language Center is back!

The Student Learning Centers Department is pleased to announce the reopening of the Language Center. Formerly located in building 7, room 5, this dedicated world language and culture venue is now located in building 7, the old Binz Room (southeast corner of the building), across from the Student Center.

In addition to providing a learning friendly space for language classes, the Language Center hosts weekly foreign language conversations and study groups.

Conversation Groups are already meeting in the Language Center. We will post our drop in hours soon.

Language Exchange

Are you interested in learning a new language? Would you be willing to help another learn your native language in exchange? Then please check out the Language Exchange link on the left side of the screen. The Language Exchange Program is open to TCC students, faculty, and staff. For more information attend one of our weekly meetings on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. - 2:20 p.m. or Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. Also feel free to contact Robert Austin (253.566.5143) or Angelia Banks (253.566.6022) with any questions.

Arabic Study Group

More Conversation Groups will be added soon! Remember, these times are reserved for students participating in the conversation groups. Anyone is welcome to drop in, but be prepared to converse in these languages!

We are very interested in starting groups for the following languages, but we need volunteer leaders: Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Vietnamese. If you are interested in hosting a conversation group in one of the above languages (or one not listed), please contact Robert (raustin@tacomacc.edu) or Angelia (abanks@tacomacc.edu).
