Students use CAL Lab equipment, software, and staff assistance to improve reading, writing, listening, math, MS Office, IIT skills in order to word toward mastery of college wide learning outcomes, competencies, and skills. The CAL Lab is available to all TCC students

Most classes and students use a combination of programs – stand alone, network, Internet based, skills exercise, and MS Office – for course assignments and requirements. Furthermore, many CAL Lab students are given access, guidance, and navigational techniques for the first time to the world wide web of information and knowledge by receiving help and facilitation by our able work study teaching assistants and program specialists.

In addition to our regularly scheduled weekly class visitors, students drop in daily to use CAL Lab computers to work on required developmental education and basic skills assignments, type a paper, print a paper, look up information from the Internet, access distance learning courses, or use CD ROM software/do assignments for courses such as Computer User, Allied Health, Math, Humanities, Education, Study Skills, and others.

CAL Lab computer stations are also available and provide supplemental resources for the Library when all of its computers are in use.
