Prerequisites

The following are the program prerequisites and requirements for the Health Information Management program:

• High School diploma or GED
• Assessment at English 101 (or completion of English 91)
• Assessment at college-level Reading (or completion of Reading 93)
• Assessment at Math 97 (or completion of Math 90)
• Fluency in MS Windows (or completion of CU 100)
• Fluency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar applications or (CU 105)
• 100 Level Anatomy and Physiology 5 Quarter Credits (BIOL&170)
• English 101

Biology &170 is an HIM program requirement. Students should plan on taking this during either the first or second quarter of their educational plan.

English 101 or higher in there own right require that students are at College Level English and Reading. English 101 is a College requirement for the AAS Degree. This class may be taken concurrently with other HIM classes.
