During your time here, we hope you establish lifelong friendships and have some good times. But more than anything, we hope you experience personal growth and self-discovery, a passion to learn and opportunities to expand your worldview. This is your time, and we are your community. Learn from us, and we will learn from you, and together, we will accomplish the goals you set out to do here at TCC.

Our goals this upcoming year is to continue to move ahead and support the needs of the college, our students and our talented staff and faculty. We work as a team to make key decisions, making sure that the right resources and responsibilities are aligned with the focus on our students and our Mission statement:

“TCC creates meaningful and relevant learning, inspires greater equity, and celebrates success in our lives and our communities.”

We greet this new academic year with promise and hope. Please join us to make this another wonderful year at TCC. We will see you around campus, and look forward to working together to accomplish your dreams.

To our students,

I would like to welcome you to Tacoma Community College on this first day of instruction, fall, 2017. Whether you are new or continuing, here in person or online, full time or part time, returning from work, recently graduating from high school, or still in high school, we value you. You are the reason that we are here! Like you, our faculty and staff bring hope and dreams to our work here. In particular, we hope that you are able to realize your dreams here at TCC.
Tod Treat, PhD
I am so impressed with the faculty and staff here. Each is committed to shared ownership of an educational journey that started with your decision to enroll here and will hopefully finish as you cross the stage with a diploma or certificate in hand. In between, you will need to work hard, collaborate, and build relationships with faculty and staff. There will also be challenges, and when they come, our message is clear: don't give up. Build relationships with your faculty and classmates. Find your community here at TCC by checking out student clubs or catching a TCC Titans game.  Don't forget to take advantage of the various support services TCC offers to help support your learning. We are delighted you are here.

It's your education. Own it. Earn it. Succeed.

Wishing you a great year!

Tod Treat, Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs
