Surgical Demonstration Day

Next Surgical Demonstration Day
at Tacoma Community College
Friday May 19, 2017

Tacoma Community College will hold its annual Surgical Demonstration Day on Friday, May 19 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm in the Science and Engineering Building (#15) on the college’s Tacoma campus. More than 370 high school students and 200 college students from local high schools and colleges are expected to attend the invitation-only event.

Professor Gavan Albright’s Human Cadaver Prosection Biology 280 course will provide presentations demonstrating surgical procedures utilizing human cadavers.  Every year close to 400 students attend this exciting event and there have even been students who have come full circle, having attended the Surgical Demonstration event as a guest, and then, upon continuing their education at TCC, been a member of the Biology 280 course.   Surgical Demonstration Day is sponsored by the TCC Biology Department and Madigan Army Medical Center.

Tour rotations will be conducted each hour throughout the event. This is an invitation only event.  You can only register upon receiving an invite before registering below at REGISTER HERE. The Surgical Demonstrations event is targeted for students taking Human Biology focused courses, not general biology students; consequently this event has grown considerably over the years and interest has exceeded our capacity to support.  Therefore, we ask that you RSVP early to lock in your tour time.  Once we have reached our registration capacity we will unfortunately have to turn away participants. Due to quick and enthusiastic responses our local high schools, high school registration is now full. Thank you! If you have questions, you can contact Please REGISTER HERE.

Other inquiries about the event can be made by emailing Molly Hagan, Division Secretary for Math, Science, and Engineering. Thank you.
