Tuesday, August 27, 2013 – Amy McCoy, former ASTCC President and current Central Washington University senior, was appointed as student representative to the Board of Trustees by Governor Jay Inslee.

According to Central’s website, McCoy was appointed as the 16th student selected to serve on the Board of Trustees.

“Our past student trustees have reaffirmed the board’s belief in the role of students in the governance of the university,” Sid Morrison, chair of the CWU Board of Trustees is quoted as saying. “We have been going through some challenging days for higher education here in Washington. The board will look to Amy for help as we develop the answers that work for the entire university.”

While obtaining her transfer degree at TCC, McCoy served as ASTCC Vice President of Legislative Affairs from 2010-11, and as ASTCC President from 2011-12.
