Mildred Street Resurfacing Starts Soon

Mildred Street Resurfacing Starts Soon photo

Friday, March 28, 2014 – Any day now, The City of Tacoma starts work on a major Mildred Street Resurfacing Project.  During the project, which should finish in late September 2014, access to TCC’s Mildred-facing parking lots will be limited. Entrances may close temporarily, and left turns into TCC’s Mildred-facing parking lots will not be permitted for the duration of the project.

In addition, traffic on Mildred will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The City of Tacoma plans to station a flagger near the Transit Center to help busses get in and out and stay on time. Two temporary traffic signals will also be installed.

Capital Projects Manager Clint Steele recommends that drivers use the main college entrances during construction. The entrances connect the north end of campus to 12th Street and the south end of campus to 19th Street.

TCC’s internal traffic patterns will be affected by the Mildred Street project. Please drive carefully, observe posted speed limits and traffic signals, and allow extra time to find a parking spot during spring quarter.
